"Baby" by Justin Bieber - Typical Teenagers

Justin Bieber, at only sixteen years old, released his single hit song "Baby" back in January 2010. This music video is taken place at a bowling alley, where a young boy, Justin, is chasing after a young girl that has broken his heart. Justin and the young girl appear to be competing against each other through bowling and even break dancing as well. The video seems to perceive that teenagers of the 21st century are falling in love at very young ages. It also shows some brief physical interaction in a few scenes, which seems to be a little too much considering how young they appear. It does not send out the best image to the younger generation, especially since the majority of Bieber's fans are very young girls (like pre-teen and even younger). The younger generation is already moving way to fast as is, falling in love at age thirteen is pretty ridiculous. This music video could cause young teens and pre-teens to assume that this is normal and they should be falling in love. Unfortunately, this is not a huge change from previous conceptions about teenagers since the media has portrayed, and still portrays, similar things. Nonetheless, the end of the music video features Ludicrous, who is a rapper. Although the merging of these two artists is something quite different than usual, it appears that its uniqueness may have opened doors for other songs to do the same thing.
